Last month we recapped on how Remtek Systems carries out assistive technology training sessions.
In our article ‘How Remtek Systems conducts training sessions’, Assistive Technology Trainer, Thomas Jackson explained how “The first contact for a Remtek trainer is in-person or online with a pre-booked meeting, which will be either a 1- or 2-hour time slot. If the session is online, then the Remtek Trainer will help you connect and share your screen, so any changes we make within the software to best suit you will not need to be replicated later.
Once you are connected, or your Trainer is sitting with you, we will explain that throughout the session; we will make sure to keep you from overloading you with information, advise you to ask questions when you have them, and not wait until later.”
Involving students in the process and building a strategy in partnership is what sets our training offering apart.
All our trainers have been promoted through our business from builds technician, technical support, on-site engineers and trainers. Training is less disruptive and cancelled sessions reduced, as technical issues can be addressed straight away by trainers instead of being signposted.
Our trainers have extensive knowledge of a range of software and are able to make informed recommendations for every student. Trainer interviews in an earlier article explain the different types of assistive technology and the benefits each can bring. This article explores software that supports note taking, time management, processing speed, structure in writing, typing and reading accuracy. Find out more here.
What Remtek System’s General Manager has to say
Remtek’s General Manager, Nick Dalli explains the Remtek approach and aiding the student journey “Once Remtek is engaged as a student’s training provider our innovative process begins.
After introductions, we ask students questions that help form a bespoke strategy including 1. which aspects of their studies are they struggling with the most? And 2. What university projects are they working on currently?
Rather than focus on products, we work with students, and based on their answers, we form a training plan that focuses on their needs. Every plan is different as we’ve come to learn that a one size fits all approach doesn’t work.
As shown in the review above our training is completely tailored to each individual. We’re extremely proud of this process. The proof is in the pudding; our extensive range of reviews show how effective our training is.
Our training is extremely successful when customised to the specific needs of a student and that’s what we would like to see more of across the industry.”
