Remtek Workplace: Learning at Work Week
This Learning at Work Week we’re looking at how learning in the workplace has changed over time and in particular the last year throughout the pandemic.
This unique, annual event was created to build learning cultures at work. It aims to put a spotlight on the importance and benefits of continual learning and development. Something that we’re passionate about here at Remtek.
This Learning at Work Week’s theme is ‘Made for Learning’, focussing on our capacity to learn, how we can be great lifelong learners and the importance of connection and community for empowered people and dynamic organisations.
Remtek Systems has always been keen to train staff and empower people across the organisation. We have created a bespoke orientation process that supports staff progression including disability awareness courses and a rigorous training programme. The goal of this ongoing staff development is to enhance the skills of our team and better support DSA students in getting started with their software and equipment.
More information on this training can be found in our bespoke orientation process article!
The Lifetime Skills Guarantee
We read with interest that in the run-up to Learning at Work Week 2021, the Queen revealed plans for the UK government’s ‘lifetime skills guarantee’.
The Prime Minister’s Lifetime Skills Guarantee was a central part of the Queen’s Speech and it will aim to revolutionise skills and training opportunities.
The new laws will create a post-16 and adult education and training system that provides the skills that people need for jobs and opportunities to train throughout their lifetime. FE News shared the legislative measures of this guarantee which can be found here!
How Remtek is Getting Involved
One of the ways that Remtek Systems is getting involved in Learning at Work Week is raising awareness of the importance of ergonomics within the workplace. Creating a comfortable and safe working environment for staff will lead to greater workplace satisfaction and better outcomes from employees.
We’re promoting our Ergonomics Partner offer and encouraging businesses to come on board with our programme. The programme will see partner’s nominating an ‘Ergo Champion’ within their organisation who will undertake ongoing ergonomics training sessions with Remtek Workplace and champion all things ergo within their companies.
Remtek Systems Director, John Farrar commented “Throughout the pandemic we have seen the benefits of remote working and supporting staff in carrying out their jobs in a range of environments. Ensuring that employees are comfortable and not at risk of hurting themselves at their workstations will give them the ability to carry out their jobs with confidence.
We’re using this Learning at Work Week to encourage individuals to take up our ergonomics training and support their employers in creating better working conditions for everyone.”
