This month we are on the hunt for Assistive Technology Trainers to join our growing team. We pride ourselves on our professional assistive technology training and the training we offer our own staff to ensure we can deliver the best possible experience for each customer.
All of our Assistive Technology Trainers benefit from a unique 6-week training programme, competitive salary and ongoing support from our established team. We also provide in-house training curriculum with continuous support and ongoing CPD after the initial training programme is complete.
A recent inductee to become an Assistive Technology Trainer explained:
“It's been fantastic to be honest. Everyone on the team has been incredibly welcoming and supportive.
There's nothing I can offer in the way of improvements to the system at this point as I feel I have had ample opportunity to get to grips with the systems and the training styles and more than enough support when starting to run the sessions myself.
Overall, it has been a breath of fresh air. Knowing that, should I need any assistance I have a team of people on Teams who are very active and very much willing to assist with anything has put me at ease and most definitely helps me feel more confident with the thought of going live next week.
Thank you for taking the time to reach out and especially, thank you for making me so welcome.” David Cook
Some fantastic feedback was also received from Ian:
"Thank you for your email regarding the induction and for the warm welcome that I have received at Remtek. I appreciate that this is a period of rapid change and expansion for the company and the challenges that that can bring. Having experienced similar processes (changing IT systems, etc) before I have to commend yourself and the rest of the team. The onboarding process has felt comprehensive and supportive and communication throughout has been clear and timely.
As you allude to in your email, adapting to new procedures can always be a challenge and will admit that I found trying to internalise the new system that we'll be using, whilst being aware of the old systems and methodologies ,and some of the adaptations we need to make during the transitional phase, a little bit challenging, although I very much appreciate that this is very much due to the timing of my joining the company. However, having the tools available (Mindview) early on in my induction to create resources for myself has proved invaluable. As has the support from all the trainers I've spoken to which has been excellent. Everyone has been welcoming, knowledgeable and patient, taking the time to ensure that I fully understood the processes involved and providing support when needed. I've also really appreciated the timely communication in what I appreciate is a rapidly evolving process as the new contract goes live.
One small piece of feedback regarding the equipment supplied whilst on induction is that I have struggled a little without a mouse. I understand the rationale for not providing new starters with a full set up but feel a basic USB mouse would help speed up navigating the PC and particularly whilst undertaking a training session where accuracy is important. I found the lack of mouse, coupled with lag experienced during cursor control over Webex led to mis-clicks during sessions where control was required, slowing down the sessions. I've since started using a spare USB mouse but thought I'd feedback as I appreciate not everyone may have one."
I guess the last thing I'd like to add, on a more personal note, is that - since my ADHD diagnosis in October I feel like life has not only made more sense but I have a much clearer idea of who I am, my values and my direction of travel in life. I have made a conscious decision to really lean into that and I feel Remtek has really given me the space, support and confidence to be myself and helped accelerate that process.
We caught up with our Lead Trainer, Thomas Jackson to learn more about the Assistive Technology Trainer programme and hear his thoughts on the recent feedback.
“It’s great to get feedback from inductees such as David to help us develop our training offer. Our aim is to ensure that all of our trainers are comfortable and confident when delivering training sessions. Our bespoke training guarantees that trainers have a full working knowledge of the software available and can make relevant recommendations.
As Lead Trainer I am always available to make sure that all training runs smoothly and answer any questions.
Our bespoke training has enabled customers to get the most out of their software and we want every customer that we train to feel supported and looked after. I have created a training form for each of our trainers to use with their customers so that we can highlight key areas where the software will assist the end user and support future training.
Our team has a fantastic level of communication, and we are in tune with the other areas of the company; everyone understands our goals and objectives. We are all working towards the same goal and seeing our training paying off for new employees and ultimately our customers is extremely rewarding.”
Have you got great communication skills and a drive to support people? This role could be for you.
